  1. I really like the vid, and I hate to hear your getting sick. I come down with something the first week of August and my wife told me I had the “Swine”, I felt like sh!t but after a few days I started feeling better and it went away.
You would be really upset with me because I bought JEDM @ .23 and because of a crappy internet connection I’m stuck with it. It really was a good call by you going long for a quick day trade but I really messed that up. 3000 shrs @ .235 to be exact, I can only hope (I know thats not a strategy) that you are more right and the pump will be outstanding.
On a brighter note I went and bought a booster antenna to tape up in my office at Exxon, maybe that will help my connection. That really was a great trade/call, the stock really picked up momentum this morning and did what it was supposed to do, after my connection failed my computer needed to be re-booted and by then it was back even so I decided to hold on, remember it’s only a 700.00 trade so no sense in getting to upset over it.
I hope you feel better, drink plenty of fluids….blah blah blah, you know the drill.

  2. I remember doing a fairly big trade ($100k position size) on a really sketchy wifi connection in Vegas. I would lose my connection ever few minutes and then reconnect. I still banged out a $7k profit on that trade.

Just a few months ago my cable internet went down and I switched over to my 3g phone (tethered to my desktop computer). I then ended up making a multi-hundred-thousand dollar trade over my phone connection and that worked out fine. I really like having my phone available as a backup internet connection so that I don’t get stuck if I lose my cable internet.

  3. Are you going to the seminar with Tim?
I’m very excited about going and hope nothing happens on my end to stop me, truth is I have a lot going here with my job. My boss is giving me pep talks on a daily basis about entertaining clients and cold calling on future clients, truth is I no nothing about drumming up business and was quite happy just doing the jobs, but it’s time to move on and let other people do that.
Matter of fact you kinda sound like my boss in that reply, “damnit boy, you got to get out there with em, have you cooked for em yet, have you brought to a topless club yet”, lol.
You have the right idea and today was a learning experience for me, it was necessary for that to happen to avoid it the next time.

    Take care buddy.

  4. Preston — I went last year. It was fun. I have to say that there is a small chance I’d go this year, but I’d only drop in and talk for a few minutes and otherwise spend time at the Blog World conference (although half the fun last year was hanging out after the seminar with some other students and shooting the shit with them). Of course I’d only do that I anticipate that that conference would be worthwhile. Or maybe I’d use that as an excuse to take my wife to Vegas and eat at some nice restaurants. Although having already taken a last-minute road trip to Chicago to have drinks with Tim and eat at a nice restaurant (Spiaggia) just a month ago, I think following Tim to Vegas would put me squarely in the stalker category. 🙂

  5. I sent Tim an e-mail when I signed up for his alerts and told him that it was because of you that I did so. They replied back saying that they were very fond of you and your promotions on your website.
Michael, hearing that “stalker” word reminds me of my wife, she just reminded me of that saying; “they’re going to think your a stalker if you don’t stop bugging them” (funnier if you hear her say it because she is Trinidadian and she has developed a southern draw).
Truth is when I get like this I don’t know when to stop, I’m sure plenty of highly motivated people reading this have the same problem and deal with it some way or another.
I am going to do my best to make it and I hope you do the same, obviously you have a better chance than me in doing so due to my present job demands.
I would like to ask you a favor though, would you mind sending me a blank copy of your Excel gains keeper that I have seen on one of your videos, I run 2003. I have tried to create one but know I am missing some things.
You really have no idea how much I appreciate the things you have done for me, no matter how small you might think they are, to me there very significant.

  6. Saw you took a $50 loss. I’m glad you kept it small today, cause trading today except for financials kinda sucked. I did buy IVOB at the end of the day. Small position, hoping the Dean and Stockshaven.com can do a good enough job at pumping the stock back up to its high. im so far up 5% doubt it breaks out though. i’ll probably take a small gain when it hits resistance. I’m in at .37

  7. Caught JEDM at the right time but was out of daytrades so I stayed out of it.. scary when you want to trade this type of stock and you have a goose egg next to “DT Left” column

  8. For some reason IB wouldn’t let me buy and I didn’t pull the trigger in my other accounts. At least some of the peeps in the TimAlert chat bought it and profited.

    tbohen :

Yikes I just checked in on NXST, did you hit that?!?!?

  9. Preston–Already working on the Excel thing. I’ll distribute it as Excel and OpenOffice files

  10. XIDE is proving that it is choppy. I don’t like trading choppy stocks as I have a hard enough time holding non-choppy ones for more than a few minutes.

  11. Damn, $FRZ was a good buy when it broke 5.00, just like you talk about the psychology of the even money marks. Maybe some shorts had stops in there and they got took out. It was beautiful, I am only following after one of the guys in Tims’ blog mentioned it, glad I didn’t go short.
Although looking at it if you wanted to time it that might have been the top @ 5.20 or so, it’s going to start fading now.

  12. VG – Vonage may be a nice support after spiking. i think it’ll have a tough time breaking $2 but this could honestly continue to grow as people miss their oppurtunities to buy in. For Now i say its a Buy In since it broke out during afternoon trading. I up 70% on a VERY small portion i lost $50 in 2mins on it today as well. Check out my pathetic trades at my site. i’ll post a vid. Let me know what you do to control your emotions in these situations.
