  1. I got bought in on 640 more shares SILA. Here is the notice I just received from IB:

    SHORT STOCK POSITION BOUGHT-IN

This alert is to inform you that IB was unable to locate and borrow the shares necessary to meet your settlement delivery obligations for the short stock position(s) listed below for account UXXX332 as of the end of today’s trading day. As current SEC regulations now require that all transactions be settled on the standard settlement date, these short stock positions will be bought-in. IB will attempt to locate the shares tomorrow morning. If IB is able to locate the shares, the buy-in will be reversed. If this occurs, IB will send notification prior to 9:30 EST.

Please know that the buy-in will be reflected on the daily account statement under the Trades section. The price which appears on the daily account statement is a preliminary price. IB will effect the buy-in early tomorrow morning. The final buy-in price will be reflected on the daily account statement of tomorrow. For additional information on the current regulations and buy-in process, IB recommends that you review the following web pages:

The positions listed below have been bought-in:

    SILA (640 shares)

    Interactive Brokers Risk Management

  2. “I got bought in on 640 more shares SILA.”

If I understood the video correctly, you chose to buy the first block in right?

So you were actually only forced in on 640 shares?

    You still have 11000ish short?

  3. Well, I chose to buy the first block rather than be forced to cover all at once. Actually it looks like the buy-in on the 640 shares wouldn’t happen until right after the open.
